O'Clery, Lughaidh The Life of Hugh Roe O'Donnell, Prince of Tirconnell (1586-1602), .. now first published from Cucogry O'Clery's Irish Manuscript, 1895 quarto, red cloth damp mottled, text block very good. O'Clery, a member of a leading Donegal Gaelic literary, became chief of his sept in 1595 and was one of the leading Irish literary figures of his time. The Irish manuscript, for which his son acting as scribe, amazing survived in family possession. It is an important historical source and was drawn on by the Four Masters. (1)
