This book represents “a study of released Secret official documents, some 30 of which are reproduced here, revealing that the Irish Army was ordered to prepare to arm the Northern Ireland minority and to provide military training and to prepare for military operations in Northern Ireland. This policy lasted until mid-August 1969. When the Government changed tack a number of Ministers were dismissed and Captain James Kelly was arrested and accused of conspiring to illegally import arms.
