The Irish Review, a monthly magazine of Irish literature, art and science, 33 issues (ex 34), March 1911 – Dec 1913; lacking issue vol 1 no 4; with 4 page index of Vol 1 (small piece torn); Vol 1 no 1 missing pps 31-36. All original grey card printed covers present for the Quarto size. These vols run to almost 600 pages, excluding ads. These 33 consecutive issues (ex 42 for the compete run to 1914) represent the most important years and vols of this first-class magazine, the like of which for quality content and artistic diversity has never been equalled. All the leading artists, poets, writers and scholars are represented here, from AE to Yeats, from Clarke to Orpen and so on, the cream of their generation. It is difficult to overemphasise the importance of this Review, as it has so many seminal literary and historical papers at a time when Ireland was emerging as a gifted artistic nation. Very rare long run and very scarce in such good condition. (33+1)
