Selection of books by Kilkenny brother and sister authors Patrick Purcell and Mary Purcell. Patricks Purcell’s include Fiddler’s Green, A Keeper of Swans, The Quiet Man and the GAA in its Time. The Mary Purcell publications include her only novel The Pilgrim Came Late (which, according to herself, she wrote to clear a gambling debt!), along with a number of books on religious characters. Several of her books have gift inscriptions signed by her. Loosely inserted in the ‘Kilkenny Magazine’ is a letter to Frank McEvoy, one time editor of this literary magazine. (20
